so you recovered?

hah, uh exactly, what do you think fully feeling the fear and panic like i suggested shows you? by fully feeling the anxiety your calling fears bluff, the bluff that your going to die…then, your body and mind will quickly go to a relaxed state after you go through the panic attack and see that there was no real threat, thus feel in control of your anxiety…thus, never fear your anxiety ever again.

and by the way, ive read more stories of recovery , real LEGITAMATE recovery from this method then any other ive ever seen. Atleast recoveries that didnt take 2 to 3 years and cost thousands of dollars.

haha! i gotta admit, out of all the responses i couldve gotten, didnt think someone would say ” dude your saying lame things”. You caught me off gaurd there. Lame as in wrong? or lame as in uncool, cuz the word lame in this context doesnt make much sense to me.

its because your scared of the sensations that the fear brings. By fully feeling the fear and sensations brought on by social anxiety, (and asking for more of course) you stop the tug-of-war between the anxiety and yourself. That tug-of-war creates more internal tension and fear…let yourself feel the sensations that the fear gives you, the fear will reach its tipping point and then will go down because your mind and body will recognize that nothing wrong is happening, there is no real threat.

yeah, as oppose to running away.
Once you stop fearing the fear and fully feel and embrace it, the fear will rise to a point and then your mind and body will recognize that there isnt a life threatening problem, and when that happens the fear will dissipate.
but only if you fullly embrace every sensation the fear is giving you, and trust that you wont die.

SA is thinking that others are judging you negatively or will judge you negatively. To conquer SA people need to learn to love themselves.
February 13th, 2010 at 5:34 am
These techniques do not work for most people. In order to alleviate the symptoms, you need to work on the feared attributes that you are concerned about reveling to others that you feel are deficient. A good cognitive therapist worth their salt should know how to help you dig into and expose those attributes that you fear others will judge. Trying to resolve SA by tackling the situations you fear, is almost always useless. This is what the latest SA research indicates.

@arjunchawdry how is your cognitive function when tipsy?

@pinoy456456 isnt SA an extreme version of shyness? if not explain social anxiety then
